Election Commission says no poll code violation happened in Wardha rally speech

According to the media sources, Election Commission had said that model code of conduct had not been breached done by Prime Minister Narendra Modi during his speech at Wardha.

“Leaders of that party are now scared of contesting from constituencies dominated by the majority (Hindu) population… It is evident from the fact that one has to contest a seat where the minority is majority,” the PM Modi said, according to the complaint filed by the Congress. The remark was evidently an attack on Congress president Rahul Gandhi who has decided to contest from Wayanad in Kerala seat as his second constituency other than Amethi.

The EC had last month categorically told that political parties should desist from referring to the military in their campaigns with reference to Pulwama attack and the air strikes.
